Collagen Replacement Therapy

What is collage replacement therapy? Collage replacement therapy, also referred to as CRTis a bovine-based collagen product that has been used safely in this country for many years.

What is the procedure for Collage replacement therapy? To be sure you are suitable for this treatment, you will need a skin test. The skin test consists of a small amount of Collagen product being injected into your left forearm. Following the skin test you must wait 28 days to ensure that you have no reaction from the skin test.

A reaction to collagen products happens in approximately 3% of the population and appears as increased redness, firmness, the area is itchy, and looks like a red raised lump. These reactions may settle very quickly with anti histamines medication and leaves no permanent scarring.

If no reaction occurs then you may proceed with the treatment to improve facial lines and wrinkles. Collagen is available in three strengths, Zyderm 1, which is excellent for lines around the eyes. Zyderm 2 is for fine to medium lines and Zyplast for deeper lines and lips.

Collagen is a very good product and gives a much more supple natural look for the more mature skin types.
