Fat Transfer surgery
What is fat transfer? Fat transfer is a straight forward procedure where fat is collected from another part of the body such as the abdomen, and is then re-injected underneath the skin in specific sites to help smooth out wrinkles or augment facial features; for example, cheek bones or fill out deep lines such as deep lines around the mouth and nose.
A common problem with fat transfer is that half of it tends to be re-absorbed so we have to put in twice as much as you need initially. It is however a straightforward procedure and is usually used in combination with other procedures to achieve the patient's desired effect.
Who would be suitable for fat transfer? Patients should be physically fit, healthy and well, to minimise risks of having surgery. .
