Hand lift surgery
What is a hand lift? This is a very popular procedure in Europe and involves restorative work to the look of the hands. In Britain most cosmetic surgical work concentrates on the face, breasts and abdomen. In the fashion concious centres of Paris and Milan they understand well that the only two things always on show are the face and the hands.
Much can be done without surgery and by using a combination of relatively non-invasive treatments a very satisfactory result can be achieved. Removing the veins, resurfacing the skin and restoring the volume to the back of the hands, can be dramatic enough. In addition, surgery can remove sagging excess skin and unsightly bony lumps around the joints due to early osteoarthritis
Who would be suitable for hand lift surgery? Anyone who feels their hands let their age down. If you feel any of the following applies to you then you may be a good candidate for rejuvenation treatments.
- The backs of your hands have thinned
- You have prominent viens and tendons
- Your skin shows sun damage. It has lost its elasticity, has thinned and creases easily, or has blotchhy pigmentation.
- You have developed bony lumps and swellings around some joints.
Most people require a number of combined treatments but all can be done under local aneasthetic at one time. Recovery is extremely quick but if skin resurfacing is required then healing time may be around two weeks.
